RMD Planned Giving Module Goes Live

RMD Planned Giving Module Goes Live

Over the next 25 years, the largest wealth transfer in human history will take place as an estimated $68 trillion will be passed on as the Baby Boomer generation ages.  Bequest giving is on the rise and this will be an unprecedented opportunity for planned giving.

What is Planned Giving?

Planned giving is the term used to refer to the process of donors committing to a planned gift.  A planned gift is usually something other than cash and requires deliberate, thoughtful steps to make the donation.  Bequests in a will, charitable gift annuities, and non-cash assets are examples of planned gifts.  As you might imagine, planned gifts are more complex than writing a check for the offering plate.  When managed appropriately these gifts can be extremely rewarding for the church and the giver.  The obvious reward for the church is an increase in giving which can be used to advance the Kingdom.  Rewards for the donor include the opportunity to leave a lasting impact, the ability to specify how their contribution is used, and, depending on the type of planned gift the donor makes, there can be tax benefits to the donor.

Orchard Alliance Planned Giving Module

For guidance in the area of planned giving, we work with Orchard Alliance, a planned giving leader and supporting organization of The Alliance that has been serving ministries and individuals for more than 50 years. Since every situation is unique, Orchard Alliance brings the right blend of biblical and professional expertise to develop and implement a plan that achieves your giving goals.

Orchard has developed a free Planned Giving Module (PGM) that can be added to your church website.  The tool informs your congregation about planned giving opportunities and gives them helpful resources.  The module can be customized to match your church’s branding.  We recently worked with Orchard to develop a planned giving module for the Rocky Mountain District.  Please take a look and note how the site has been personalized and branded for RMD.

Building this site for your church is very easy and only takes a few minutes.  Orchard will provide a questionnaire for you to complete.   You simply provide the information needed and they do the rest of the work.  The best part, there is no charge to develop your module. To speak to a professional at Orchard Alliance regarding planned giving, call 844.613.2295 or email PlannedGiving@OrchardAlliance.org

I am also available and willing to answer any questions or help you get started with the process to develop a planned giving module.
