Leadership

Church Development Recommended Reading

Living, pastoring and being a healthy church in these unique times gives us new challenges around each corner. Here is a book that might help stimulate your thinking in different ways regarding new tools and the church.

As a Pastor, Analog Church pushed me to think about ways that I could use technology to deepen relationships AND relationships to heal from the de-humanizing effects of technology. Jay Kim masterfully pokes at the reality of the infrastructure of the Kingdom of God always being deep, real, and profound relationships. In a world where we are looking at the advent of AI, the continual presence of social media, and the church’s push for relevance in a digital age, Kim reminds us of the difference between relevance and transcendence.

Getting the Most Out of an Event

This month on the Third Thursday Podcast, leaders are invited to rethink how they approach conferences, retreats, and student ministry events—not as something to survive, but as key opportunities to lead with purpose.

The episode walks through how to lead well before, during, and after an event. From preparing your heart with spiritual intentionality, to staying present in the moment, to guiding your students through meaningful reflection afterward—it’s a roadmap to help transformation take root.

Whether you’re headed to a summer conference or wrapping up a weekend retreat, this conversation will equip you to lead beyond logistics and into spiritual impact.

Their long-term goal is to operate a retreat center for overseas workers and to connect with north African immigrants through business. More information will be forthcoming, but we wanted to put this family on your radar so that you can be praying for them and praying about connecting with them.
