Haley Jones has been deeply connected to the Christian and Missionary Alliance since childhood, growing up in a missionary family serving in China for over 20 years. Raising Steadfast Children – Misty Vannett
Isn’t this the goal for every parent? To see their grown child living in a way that honors Jesus and upholding the values that were taught. Parenting is not a formula to follow but a relationship to build. With humor and humility, Misty will share the ups and downs from 25 years of parenting and the biblical principles that will help children build their own relationship with Jesus that will continue into adulthood.
Misty Vannett wears many hats but her favorites are wife and mother. Married nearly 30 years with 8 children and a bonus son-in-love, she has some experience at both. However, experience does not equal perfection or expertise. Misty supports her husband, Vince, as the Lead Pastor at Saratoga Alliance Church in Wyoming where her passion to see people truly grasp how much Jesus loves them drives her every day.
What’s Next? – Kristen Habel
Young women face a multitude of important and complex decisions. How do we know where God is leading or how to keep our eyes fixed on Him? Join Kristen as she shares her story of following the Lord’s leading and provides scripture and encouragement for you to do the same.
Kristen is originally from Wisconsin and felt the Lord’s leading to overseas missions at a young age. After completing her bachelor’s in nursing, Kristen went on to pursue a master’s in Intercultural Studies through Alliance Theological Seminary. In 2009, she started a four-year term with the Christian and Missionary Alliance to serve as an International Worker at a women and children’s hospital in West Africa. At the end of her term in 2013, Kristen reconnected with her childhood crush, TJ, and they were married in 2014. A week later they moved to Montana. Kristen and TJ attend Fellowship Church in Columbia Falls, MT with their three children Elias, Emerson Grace, and Corin. TJ is on staff at Fellowship as a part-time teaching pastor and is also self-employed. Kristen serves as a deaconess at church, co-leads a women’s weekly small group, homeschools her two oldest, and picks up occasional shifts as an infusion nurse.
Stronger Together: Building Cross-Generational Faith Friendships
– Jean Runner
Every Sunday women of all ages gather in church to worship, hear the message of God’s word and then go home to another busy week of life. What would happen if women from teens to grandmothers connected more and relationships began to grow across generations? And not only on Sundays but throughout the year.
Jean would be the first to say she is not a professional speaker. But she is a people person and is an encourager to women of all ages. Choosing to see good in every person and situation is something she calls R8:28 – God works all things for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose for them. She and her husband Dan attend Saratoga Alliance Church in Saratoga, WY. She is deaconess and on Women’s Ministry Team. Jean leads “The Gathering,” a Bible study attended by women of all ages from Saratoga Alliance and women who have no church home. She recently became a grandmother for the first time when Noah Daniel was born in December.
Boundaries – Nikki Fisher
Life is constantly moving at us. Boundaries can help us define where we end and others begin. We need to learn to navigate the many responsibilities that arise every day while maintaining proper relationships and rhythms along the way. God gave us boundaries to help us stay steadfast in who he created us to be and what he created us to do.
Nikki is a wife and mother. She has been working in youth and women’s ministry for the last 25 years. Working in this ministry capacity is what led her to go back to school and get a Master’s in Counseling and become a licensed counselor. Loving God and loving people is her mission and passion.
